Instant Immersion Levels 1-2-3 Patch Instructions to
Support Mac OSX Lion (10.7) Operating System

Apple has made changes in Lion that will cause a problem with customers trying to use the Instant Immersion Levels 1-2-3 software. 

The Instant Immersion software is provided on a CD or DVD and this media cannot be directly patched.  Therefore, you must download a replacement program that will reside on your desktop and be used to start the program.  The following instructions with accompanying screenshots will show the process of downloading, installing and using the software patch. 

NOTE: These instructions are for Mac OSX Lion using Safari.

 

Step 1 - Download the software patch

a.

 Please click HERE to start the download of the 45MB software patch ZIP file.

b.

 The icon in the upper right corner of Safari will be blue to indicate the patch file is downloading.   

c.

 When the download is complete, the icon will turn gray. 

d.

 Click on the gray icon  and you will see the Instant Immersion file is downloaded.
              

e.

Click magnifying glass next to the Instant Immersion item.

f.

 A Finder window will open showing the Instant Immersion Update file.
               

g.

Drag the icon to your desktop.

h.

 The patch file is now installed on your desktop and you do not need to repeat this step.
   
Step 2 - Using the software patch
  The Instant Immersion Update file on your desktop must be used to start the software program Talk Now, World Talk and Vocabulary Builder (6-CD version only).  The remaining software titles in Instant Immersion Levels 1-2-3 can still be run using the program icon on the disk. 

If you try to start the programs without using the icons on the desktop, the program will quit unexpectedly.  If this happens, simply use the correct icon on the desktop to start the program.

If you use the icon on the desktop without inserting the proper CD/DVD, quit the program (apple key + q) and then try the process again once the disk is inserted.

 
     If you have six software CDs (labeled Level 1 Disc 1, Level 1 Disc 2, Level 2 Disc 1, Level 2 Disc 2, Level 3 Disc 1, Level 3 Disc 2):
  Level 1 Disc 1 Patch
 
  • Insert Level 1 Disc 1 into the computer.
  • Close any Finder window that opens.
  • Double-click on the Instant Immersion Update icon on the desktop and the program will work correctly.
  Level 1 Disc 2 Patch
 
  • Insert Level 1 Disc 2 into the computer.
  • Close any Finder window that opens.
  • Double-click on the Instant Immersion Update icon on the desktop and the program will work correctly.
  Level 3 Disc 1 Patch
 
  • Insert Level 3 Disc 1 into the computer.
  • Close any Finder window that opens.
  • Double-click on the Instant Immersion Update icon on the desktop and the program will work correctly.
   
     If you have one software DVD labeled "Software Levels 1, 2 & 3":
 
  • Insert the Levels 1, 2 & 3 DVD into the computer.
  • Close any Finder window that opens.
  • Double-click on the Instant Immersion Update icon on the desktop and the patched menu will work correctly.
   
     If you have another Instant Immersion product
 
  • The patch was created to resolve issues with the current Levels 1-2-3 product. If you have an older product, you can double-click on the Instant Immersion Update icon on the desktop and then insert the disk and see if the product is automatically recognized and started by the patch program. If the program does not start, you have a version that cannot be patched.
